Philippa is a board director and looks after our corporate accounts, oversees special projects and growth planning. With her solid catering management background in private members clubs, million pound restoration projects to USAF facilities dealing with presidential visits, nothing we throw at her phases her at all! She enjoys cycling and family time with her boys and is a mean roller skater!
MarkHead of Finance
Mark is our growth strategist, financial planner and Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in the retail and food industry. He’s one of those guys who’s constantly positive, motivating and genuinely thinks we really appreciate his colourful spreadsheets... He loves rugby, is incredibly proud of his two sons and lovely wife June.
ZoeHead of Operations
Zoe is our highly-dedicated Operations Manager; heading up the EMT and keeping a close eye on efficiency and budgets. Zoe knows the company inside-out and works hard to keep the team happy. She has a busy social life and is great at organising staff get-togethers (mostly to the pub). Married to Andy, Zoe has two step-sons and a fat cat. She loves netball, cycling and has an enviable shoe collection!
ChrissieHead of Accounts
Chrissie works with Mark in the accounts team and politely calls all our wonderful customers who forget to pay us and once rumoured to have said, “I wish I had a pound for every time a cheque went missing in the post... ” but we don’t believe that as she is far too polite. Chrissie loves her dogs, supports Ipswich Town football Club, is married to Doug and has two sons.
GeorgeHead of The Farm - Kenya
George Muchomba is the Head Honcho and second generation coffee farmer. Having served as Chairman of the local Co-Operative for more than 20 years George has earned respect as an inspirational Community Leader driven to making the farm and the surrounding area a better place for everyone. He's one of the founders of the Ruiga Girls Secondary School, a proud family man, father and grandfather. A kind, gentle, man we're incredibly proud to be working with.
MartinNational Sales Manager
Our National Sales Manager Martin loves going the extra mile for our customers. Whether bringing on board new accounts or taking care of current ones; he’s passionate about people getting the most from our coffee. Our fresh-air-fan Martin enjoys countryside walks with Darwin the dog. He spends his spare time with his 3 children; enjoying the great outdoors.
LauraOffice and Mobilisation Manager
Laura is our super-efficient and ever-cheerful Office and Mobilisations Manager. She ensures everything we do runs smoothly. An avid scuba-diver and skier; when not keeping everything in the office shipshape Laura can be found underwater or on the slopes! When she finds free time; Laura enjoys walking her dog Ruby or relaxing with a well-deserved gin and tonic.
KitBarista Trainer / Technician
There's not much our Barista Trainer/Technician Kit doesn’t know about coffee: Whether he’s fixing a machine or teaching our baristas; everything he does is injected with passion. Our resident ‘coffee nerd’ has completed all 3 levels of the SCA professional barista training. When he’s not whizzing round the country in the ‘Coffee Response Unit’ his time is divided between family, cars and music.
Jess is our extremely well organised Service Coordinator with a meticulous attention to detail and a love of colour co-ordinated lists. Jess arranges maintenance and engineer visits to ensure your coffee equipment is kept in tip-top condition. Married to Dan and with two adorable dogs; Jess is a keen gardener, cyclist and has a not-so-secret penchant for home-brewed rhubarb vodka!
EmmaAccount Manager / Head of Training
There's never a dull moment for Emma who splits her time between looking after our customers and co-ordinating our training programme. A true coffee nerd; Emma is a qualified Speciality Coffee Association (SCA) authorised trainer passionately delivering courses from home-brewing skills to SCA certified courses. A proud mother of two; Emma believes good coffee and training and education should be accessible to all.
ParisCafe Manager - Hadleigh
Paris, our Hadleigh Diamond excels in customer service. Constantly smiling, our café manager really does go the extra mile for his customers. He has expertly developed a ‘child friendly’ atmosphere and can be regularly found colouring with his army of mini-fans. Proud to have achieved his level 3 SCA professional barista qualification; he makes a mean flat white too! In his spare time Paris enjoys jaunts in the countryside with his husband and their two dogs.
IsaacNKG Logistics - Kenya
Issac Muchomba is the son of George and our conduit to the outside world. His knowledge of the local coffee market is unrivalled having run the Kenyan Coffee Traders Association for 9 years. Responsible for the day to day management of the farm project in conjunction with our processing and shipping partners NKG. Issac serves as a member of the Board of Management at the Ruiga Secondary School, a proud family man, dad and all round great guy!
Super-organised Tanzy gets a kick out of helping our customers! She's the one behind the chirpy greeting callers to the Bean Barn receive. Whether she's taking orders, managing stock levels or keeping the paperwork in order; efficiency is the name of the game. Tanzy is enthusiastic, permanently full of beans and loves nothing better than keeping everything ship-shape and sparkling! Don't be fooled by her gentle demeanor; this country girl is a dab-hand with a shotgun and can pull out some badass dance moves when she needs to!
