The good thing about working at the self-proclaimed ‘most ambitious coffee company in the world’ is that there’s never any chance of boredom: Not even a little bit of tedium has the chance to creep in because we’re always doing everything at 100mph. It must be all that caffeine, right?
2019 was another fast-paced year of grand plans and exciting growth for Paddy & Scott’s culminating in one really big change for the whole team. After taking on a new café on The Waterfront in Ipswich last Autumn, in December we moved the whole team there into our brand new, dockside offices. All this at our busiest time of year too…..well, we do love a challenge!
We bid a fond farewell to our beloved Bean Barn in sleepy, rural Suffolk and headed for our newly finished offices inside the University of Suffolk building. This move not only puts the cherry on top of 2019 for us as a company, but is also a springboard into an even more exciting 2020: More space & better transport links for hosting visitors & far-flung colleagues & clients; a brand new, purpose built training facility (coming soon), a wider talent-pool of potential new recruits to drive us forward & lots of other exciting benefits.
After 8 years at the Bean Barn the new space is a wonderful blank canvass. Clutter-free, sleek & open plan; there’s plenty of scope for adding some Paddy & Scott’s styling. A corrugated metal clad meeting room, drying racks on the walls & plenty of plants are reminiscent of the Muchomba Farm – to make us feel at home. The foosball table and basket ball hoop…well, they’re just for our amusement. Like I mentioned; boredom does not feature at Paddy and Scott’s!
Now that Christmas has passed and we’ve had some time to settle in the new year sees no slowing in the pace, it’s just how we like it.
Thanks to all of our customers, farm members & friends for your support in 2019…..2020: Bring it on!
