The £6.99 Cafetiere Vs.the £12,545 Automatic Coffee Machine?

One of the perks of this job is being able to taste new coffees. It's always makes me tingle when a new coffee is presented, the smell, colour, aroma it's a real sensory moment and on this occasion it was no different. This coffee was amazing, a deep cinnamon roast, well presented beans. I could tell this elderly second generation coffee broker was really proud of his find. We started the customary cupping session, pouring hot (not boiled) water on freshly ground beans allowing the coffee grounds to rise the the top and settle for a couple of minutes before we broke the "crust " and tasted the coffee...sweet, toffee with a bitter sweet grassy taste; a perfect summer coffee. It was at this stage that I noticed the gleaming, fully automatic coffee machine sitting on the counter waiting for the opportunity to make us the perfect Latte in less than 30 seconds "twelve and a half grand that little beauty cost us" I was reliably informed! I couldn't wait to see this machine in action? It was then he dusted off his 20 year old 2 cup cafetiere (French Press) and went through the time honored tradition of making a perfect cup of coffee. He poured the hot water and produced a tiny little egg timer to calculate the perfect 3 minute wait before he plunged. The result was a full flavoured, complex, wonderfully gritty coffee that worked fantastic with a tiny splash of cream! Although you'll never prise me away from my morning double espresso, I just loved the simple pleasure and taste of this wonderful coffee made in a simple coffee maker. Is it better than a £12,500 coffee machine? you know what, on this occasion I think it was! Click here to view our range of Cafetiere coffee's http://www.paddyandscotts.co.uk/buy-coffee-online
