We started roasting coffee in Scott's garage as a way of winding down after work however, on the continent roasting coffee at home was an integral part of country life throughout the 1920/30's. In Italy "Mamma would always burn her beans" over the fireplace or atop her cast iron stove.

We like to think of ourselves as the Italian Mamma (or should we say Pappa!) on a mission! We love slow roasted coffee, the taste, the smell, the romance. We like to think our coffee is the smoothest and freshest coffee you'll ever taste. Just to give you an idea of how we developed our blends, every sample that we produced (and they ran into 100’s) we had to log the beans, origin, their many flavours, the roast time, the temperature during the roast...we could go on. What we never noted was the price of the beans, quality was the only buying criteria for us.

Most importantly our business is great fun! We've had some crazy times along the way, one hot summer evening, after a long wine fuelled lunch with our wives and good friends we fired up "old smokey" and tried to create a punchy after dinner coffee that worked with grappa...it turned out to be the basis of our best selling After Dinner Coffee! Paddy's a dreamer, Scott can be moody, and Jessie the black Labrador has gone AWOL but when it comes to coffee production and distribution I think we've finally got it spot on!
